Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 19, 2026
FiClue ("we," "our," or "the app") is a personal finance application that helps you track expenses, manage budgets, and monitor your net worth. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
FiClue is operated by an individual developer. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@ficlue.com.
Information We Collect
Financial account information (via Plaid)
To provide budgeting, transaction tracking, and net worth features, FiClue uses Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to securely connect to your bank and financial accounts. When you link an account, Plaid may share the following with us:
- Account and routing information (used only to identify your linked accounts)
- Transaction history (amounts, dates, merchant names, categories)
- Account balances
- Recurring transaction/bill information
We never receive or store your bank login credentials. These are entered directly into Plaid's secure interface and are never visible to us.
Account information
When you create a FiClue account, we collect your email address and authentication information, managed securely via our backend provider, Supabase.
Subscription information
If you purchase a subscription, payment processing is handled by RevenueCat and the Apple App Store. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details. We receive confirmation of subscription status (active, expired, trial, etc.) to manage your access to premium features.
Device & notification information
If you enable push notifications (e.g. for bill reminders), we collect a device push token to deliver those notifications. We do not collect location, contacts, camera, or other device data.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Display your transactions, budgets, and net worth within the app
- Detect recurring bills and send reminder notifications, if enabled
- Maintain and sync your data across your devices
- Process and manage your subscription
- Provide customer support
- Improve and maintain the app's functionality and reliability
We do not sell your personal or financial information to third parties. We do not use your financial data for advertising purposes.
How We Share Your Information
We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate the app:
- Plaid Inc. — to connect to and retrieve data from your financial institutions. Plaid's use of your information is governed by its own privacy policy, available at plaid.com/legal.
- Supabase — our backend infrastructure provider, used to securely store and sync your account and app data.
- RevenueCat — to manage subscription status and entitlements.
- Apple Inc. — to process App Store subscription payments and deliver push notifications.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the app.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and secure, access-controlled cloud storage via Supabase. Bank credentials are never stored by FiClue — all bank authentication occurs directly within Plaid's secure interface.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain your account and financial data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete your associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention or dispute resolution.
Your Rights and Choices
You can:
- Disconnect a linked bank account at any time within the app
- Delete your account, which removes your stored data from our systems
- Disable push notifications at any time through your device settings
- Contact us at support@ficlue.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information
Children's Privacy
FiClue is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent revision.
